The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting Windows, Apple and Linux systems primarily in the corporate environment and lab environments. This includes servers, desktops, laptops, printers and thirds party software and hardware. The IT Systems Administrator will need to build, setup, maintain, implement, and troubleshoot technology problems related to Windows/Linux servers and desktops that affect end-user productivity. As in any start-up this position will include many other operational duties that is key to our business. The right individual is detail-oriented, can work under stressful conditions, multitask and possess solid technical, production and customer service skills and is dedicated to maintaining up-to-date documentation.
This position is located in our Albuquerque NM office and requires end user support for remote users throughout the US and in India. It is primarily a corporate support position but includes assisting Support, Development and Quality Assurance teams as well as providing assistance to the HR and Executives.
A minimum of 5 years of Systems Administration / IT work
3-5+ years of Windows desktop and Windows server administration experience or equivalent
3-5+ years Linux experience in a system administration capacity or equivalent
Active Directory experience
Database experience with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL
Experience automating repetitive tasks with scripting (Bash, PowerShell, and Python)
System performance tuning, trending, and analysis
Experience with VMware ESXi 4.1/5.0, vSphere, and Xenserver
Application & OS security including virus scan management
Network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, SMTP, DHCP, and DNS), hardware & software
Experience with management and monitoring tools (Nagios, Cacti, PRTG),
Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services) and remote support and troubleshooting
Network Attached Storage devices, SANs, Linux - Windows server systems interoperability
Phone/in-person/email communication skills a must
Demonstrated knowledge of basic Cyber Security principles
Organization skills a must
Excellent interpersonal / customer service skills
Bachelor's Degree in Business or IT Degree preferred
Security certifications are a plus
Knowledge Base writing and content management
Duties and Responsibilities
Work out of a ticketing system, provide updates per SLA and reports to management
Ability to deliver requests and projects on time
Ensure the company achieves and maintains corporate compliance initiatives
Excellent self-learning ability on both technologies and processes to become drive efficiencies
Oversee and conduct systems backups and patching, maintenances and monitoring
Work closely with Finance on license management including audits and renewals
Manage the corporate VOIP and Web Conferencing Systems
Research and source hardware, software and cloud solutions
Work with various cloud providers
Installing, configuring and troubleshooting VPN networks
Work is generally conducted indoors on carpeted floors as well as some server room activities, typically during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, some evening and weekend work for maintenances and on-call rotation. Up to 10% of travel may be required.
