Sales Development Representative

Overview of the Role

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a key player to enable our revenue growth targets at RiskSense. You will provide the connection of our innovative solutions to security leaders from CXOs, security analyst and threat researchers. You will partner closely with the demand generation team and sales by leading the identification, qualification, and fostering of new opportunity generation for our field executives by setting up meetings that yield qualified deals. You'll help develop prospect relationships and tune the way we communicate with F2000 businesses, and raise the bar for an excellent sales experience. 


  • BA/BS or MBA in business or technical field
  • 1-5 years experience in security high tech with a focus on Sales or Customer Success
  • Experience positioning software-as-a-service enterprise security solutions via the phone is strongly preferred 
  • Strong and effective written, oral and telephone skills 
  • Understanding IT infrastructure, computer and security systems
  • Demonstrated experience achieving weekly, monthly and quarterly activity targets

  • You have a positive attitude, never accept “no” approach and a desire to have your work make a REAL impact to your company and its customers
  • You have a critical eye to assess our current capabilities and processes and share your ideas to make them better


Primary Responsibilities

  • Prospect, educate, qualify, and develop opportunities in target accounts looking for patterns that create success
  • Create and prioritize strategic target account lists in collaboration with Sales Exec team and pass qualified leads to account teams managing the logistics of these meetings
  • Work across channels (web, email, phone, and in-person) to convert prospects into true believers
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop and execute campaigns and provide feedback to maximize impact
  • Become a trusted resource and guide for interested prospects building their own data-centric security strategies
  • Leverage all resources tools including: LinkedIn SalesNavigator, Discover.Org and maintain accurate and up-to-date data in Salesforce
  • Adapt out-reach campaigns in real-time based on collaboration with Demand Gen team and performance results
  • Skill in navigating organizations and leveraging social media to find the right contact to engage
  • Strong time management and self-motivation skills 
  • Ability to work as part of a team 
  • Ability to learn quickly and to adapt easily to change
